Hi, my name is Ruth & I make artwork that explores the connection between people and nature. strellendi is my art & design project. My work usually starts with digitally editing my botanical photos to highlight details and shapes that stand out to me. I use both traditional drawing and digital tools to develop my concepts further. Once I've finished my design, I create the final artwork on paper using acrylic paint and inks. I use flat brushes, paint markers, and other tools to give my work a flat and matte look.

My art style combines abstraction with figurative elements to create a sense of meaning. My main inspirations include hard edge painting, textile patterns, fashion design, and a dark ethereal aesthetic. For me nature is a place of peace and refuge, that has a surreal beauty, and is full of life and movement. It can help show us who we are and what is most important in our lives. I hope to express some of this through my work, by making art that helps people connect with nature, and with the things that are waiting to be discovered if we stop and look closer.
